Night of Poetry is one of Fundação Arte e Cultura’s most prestigious cultural projects, held monthly at the Wyza Amphitheater. Created in 2016, the initiative aims to value, preserve, and promote Angolan literature by offering a dedicated stage for poetic expression and the voices of its authors. For many editions, Night of Poetry has served as one of the Foundation’s most meaningful platforms—an evening where art and words converge, and where both established and emerging voices find their place. More than a cultural event, it is a space of opportunity: a stage where young poets, first-time performers, and renowned talents share the spotlight, bringing their stories, rhythms, and emotions to the audience. On the last Wednesday of each month, the Wyza Amphitheater transforms into a vibrant meeting point between generations. The stage has welcomed important names in the Angolan literary scene, such as Aminata Goubel, Rossana Miranda, David Capelenguela, Bell Neto, Agícia Nayol, and Eduardo Bonavena. Esteemed literary figures including Amélia da Lomba, Lopito Feijó, Manuel Rui, Kanguimbo Ananás, and Fragata de Morais have also enriched the event with their artistry. More than an artistic evening, Night of Poetry stands as a commitment from Fundação Arte e Cultura to foster the arts, expand cultural access, and promote new narratives that reflect the richness and diversity of Angolan identity. Each edition is a celebration—a moment of sharing, inspiration, and connection—strengthening the bond between the public, literature, and its creators.
