At Fundação Arte e Cultura, we believe education, art, and culture are powerful tools for shaping lives and communities. Even before the official inauguration of the School of Art and Culture on February 28, 2020, our work in this field was already underway—offering artistic and non-artistic classes in community centers and schools across Luanda.
Since its creation, the School has grown into a vibrant hub of creativity and opportunity. Thousands of children and young people take part in a wide range of programs, guided by dedicated teachers across diverse disciplines. From music, theater, and visual arts to reading, writing, digital literacy, and environmental education, students develop not only practical skills but also core values such as teamwork, discipline, and social responsibility.
Registration opens once a year—don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this inspiring journey.
At Fundação Arte e Cultura, art is a pathway to creativity, identity, and confidence. All classes are made available at no cost with admissions held once a year in August, while new opportunities to participate open throughout the year. Through these programs, students learn skills, celebrate Angola’s cultural heritage, and gain the confidence to share their talents with the community.
A space for artistic development and creative expression, where students explore diverse techniques, styles, and visual languages. The program balances fundamentals with experimentation, encouraging each student to develop their own artistic voice.
This unique program goes beyond ecological practice by teaching recycling as a form of transformation—turning discarded objects into art. Along the way, children learn to care for the environment, using practical tools and creative skills to help make the world a cleaner, more sustainable place. The program nurtures both environmental awareness and artistic expression, combining lessons in sustainability, responsible consumption, and creativity.
Traditional Dance, Urban andBallet
Our dance program invites students to express themselves through movement while connecting with culture and community. From hip hop, breakdance, semba, kuduro, and traditional Angolan dance to ballet, students explore dance as a form of identity, creativity, and storytelling. Each class highlights the power of art in community building, while their performances bring their talent and passion to the stage in unforgettable performances.
Learning to play the piano opens the door to discipline, creativity, and self-expression. Our program builds strong foundations in reading music sheets, technique, coordination, listening, and interpretation. Along the way, students develop not only technical mastery but also musical sensitivity, focus, and confidence—skills that enrich many areas of life.
The guitar becomes a language of rhythm, melody, and creativity in our program. More than just learning chords, students explore technique, music theory, improvisation, and ensemble work, while gaining confidence through stage performance. These lessons are an essential part of our curriculum — a pathway to discovering hidden talents, nurturing self-expression, and inspiring the next generation of Angolan musicians.
Our dynamic percussion program immerses students in both traditional and contemporary rhythms, exploring the power of drums as a tool for creativity, musicality, and teamwork. Participants develop rhythm, posture, coordination, memory, and the ability to create music together, building confidence and collaboration along the way.
Here, singing is more than performance — it’s a powerful form of self-expression and presence. Students learn to use their voices as instruments of creativity, emotion, and identity, gaining joy and confidence from sharing their unique sound. As part of the program, they also perform at different events, showcasing their growth and inspiring audiences.

Beyond the arts, our programs provide children, youth, and adults with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment. From tutoring and English classes to digital literacy and sports, each activity nurtures confidence, creativity, teamwork, and resilience. By participating, students gain valuable skills, discover new passions, and open doors to future opportunities—empowering them to succeed both in school and in life.
As the program with the highest enrollment, our tutoring initiative plays a vital role in supporting children’s growth and learning. While many parents are away at work, this program provides a safe and enriching space where students receive guidance in core subjects such as Math, Portuguese, and Science. With personalized attention from dedicated teachers, children not only strengthen their academic knowledge but also build confidence, discipline, and independent study skills that will benefit them for life.
Our English program welcomes children, youth, and adults, offering dynamic classes that integrate speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Designed to be practical and accessible, it helps students build confidence in everyday communication while opening doors to future opportunities. A highlight is the English Summer School, run in partnership with TALMA (Program for Excellence in English Teaching). For one month, students enjoy full English immersion with native-speaking teachers, supported by Angolan educators, making it an intensive, inspiring, and transformative learning experience.
In today’s world, digital skills are essential. Our program empowers students of all ages to gain confidence and digital literacy, learning to use technology creatively, productively, and responsibly. From everyday applications like communication and research to tools that prepare them for future careers, participants explore practical and advanced digital skills. Through hands-on projects and guided learning, they discover how to navigate the digital world with confidence, curiosity, and competence.
Sport is more than play—it’s a powerful tool for growth. Our program introduces children and teenagers to one of the world’s most dynamic team sports, combining training with teamwork, discipline, and fun. Beyond the field, students develop physical fitness, cognitive abilities, and social skills that they carry into school, relationships, and future careers.
